Its 2018! Reboot time…again!

Hey! Its always amazing to me how much time passes by when we aren’t watching. To paraphrase a great John Lennon song, life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans. We get older, we get busier, we have families, and we tend to ignore those aspects of our life that is a hobby, a passion, but something done just for the fun of it and nothing more. This is what happens to Brain Gravy unfortunately. I love the podcast, and, if I can speak for BuBBy for a second, I know he loves it too. But we’ve been neglectful, and completely take the podcast and reviews for granted, because it is a lot of effort, because we are perfectionists, and, in the end, we tend to lose the time to put in.

So, that being said, I want to give it one more effort. To keep up the website, to do the beer reviews, and to get the podcast consistent again. I have a few ideas, but need to run them past BuBBy first, but, I am excited with what I am planning, and I hope whoever is out there that might read this, that might listen to the podcast, will be excited too!

How do I keep forgetting…

….that we have this website? I get so caught up in other stuff, that I keep forgetting that this site exists. I’m still pissed off that someone owns BrainGravy.com….they don’t even use it, but want a healthy few dollars to allow me the privilege of owning the site….I think I can live not owning the site.

But…for at least the 1500th time, I am attempting, once again, to get this site up and running again. We plan on getting the podcast going again, beer reviews going again, everything going again….lol…Lets hope I’m not lying again….

In any case….hopefully be back soon!

Still getting our act together

Ugh….work….life….family….all these things that tend to get in the way of a podcast….we are still editing to try and get you new stuff! Just wanted to let you all know WE are still alive and here! Plus….Gravyfest 2011 this August!!!

Detox finishing up its first week!

Ok…today is day 5 of detox! BuBBy and I have decided to give our livers a 6 week break from alcohol while we both have gotten back into the gym and are determined to get back into shape! For myself, I have been at the gym 4-5 times a week, starting to play more basketball, my body slowly rounding back into shape. I can already see my belly going away, and my shirts are starting to get a little tighter in the shoulder/chest area. My diet has improved quite nicely, and I am feeling quite a bit better. My only problem has been a shift in my sleep cycle again….I tend to fall asleep early (I think because I go to the gym in the early morning) and have been waking up in the middle of the night; but I am confident this will readjust itself soon!!!

I will let BuBBy post his own progress, but I can tell you that he can’t believe how good he feels even just after a few weeks back in the gym and almost a week of detox!

December Drinking Day success!

This past Friday was our second anuual December Drinking Day! It was an unqualified total success!!!! It started 10 am on Friday morning. I, personally, lasted 16 hours, having left by 2 am no longer able to hold my head up. Z Live from Pluto, who began the day with me, was on after I left; I will have to get an update from him how long he lasted.

A great event where we were joined by a multitude of our dear friends throughout the day: BuBBy, Paradox and GI Suck joined us from work, with all three of them joining us later for regular festivities. There was Gambler, NAGG, Hula Honey, Sick Puppy, Spoon, The Art of Beer and friends, Miranda, and our long lost JJJENNNNN! Other friends joined us, including Kaptn Willy via text, and, for anyone I forgot, remind me and I will add an addendum.

It was a fun day, and one that I look forward to next year. We will try to set the day way in advance so that everyone can join us; I think it should be a national holiday.

December Drinking Day

Hey everyone! I do believe it might be that time of year again: December Drinking Day! We held our first annual DDD almost a year ago to the day.

What is December Drinking Day? Simple: Take off from work, take a personal day, a vacation day…call in sick (although we don’t endorse this option…) and join us for a full day of drinking! Its THAT simple!  Festivities will get started somewhere around 9 am EST this Friday, December 4, 2009. Z live from Pluto and myself (JustHarmless) will be hosting the event. We are still trying to convince BuBBy, but it seems he will not be able to join until later. We will post a link into the Tokbox room from which we will be imbibing. Feel free to pop in anytime to share a drink or two or three and say hi!

And…at the end of the day, join us for the regular Friday night Tokbox merriment….maybe a Stickam raid…who the hell knows?
